Obituary of Mary A. (Fleming) Hubisz

SALEM—Mary A. (Fleming) Hubisz, beloved wife of the late John L. Hubisz, passed on to her eternal home in Heaven on March 6, 2007 in North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Hugh E. and Mary (O’Hara) Fleming. She lived in Peabody in her youth where she attended St. John’s Elementary School, then graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1932. Although she attended business school, she married John L. Hubisz, the love of her life, and spent her life as a successful homemaker. She will be dearly missed by her friends and her family, including: her sons, John Lawrence Hubisz, Jr. of Apex, NC, Joseph Scott of Harker Heights, TX, Jan Peter of Harrington, ME, Jeremy Jay of Peabody, Jeoffrey Jean of Peabody, her daughters Martha Marie Verlander of Atlanta, GA, Marilyn Alice McCaffrey of Manchester, NH, and Mary Fleming Fraser of Antigonish, Nova Scotia; 32 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen Veronica (Dede) Lonergan of Danvers, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death besides her loving husband of 65 years, her brothers John, Hugh, James, Austin, Patrick, William “Bobby”, Francis “Dodie”, and a son James F.X. Hubisz during Vietnam War. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 10 AM in St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Peabody. A visitation will be held on Wednesday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 A.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St. location, Peabody. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Thomas Church, 1 Margin St., Peabody, MA 01960.
