Obituary of Edward "Adam" Zayac

Edward Zayac PEABODY Edward Zayac, 90, beloved husband of Ann (Zukowski) Zayac, died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday. Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late Stefan and Anna (Wehonaitz) Zayac. He lived in Peabody all of his life and attended Peabody schools. He was a veteran of World War II, with service in the United States Coast Guard, and later in the Naval Reserves during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Zayac worked as a Buffer at Verza Tanning, and also at Rex Leather for several years. He worked as a Shipper/Receiver at Hanson Engineering in Beverly before his retirement. He was a member of the Russian Aid Society, was very avid high school Football and Baseball fan, tended to his gardening, and mushroom picking he even had a newspaper clipping how he once found a 23 pound mushroom. He is survived by: his wife, Ann (Zukowski) Zayac of Peabody; one son, Paul Zayac of Billerica; two grandchildren, Mark Zayac and Jeffrey Zayac, both of Lynn; one great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Zayac of Lynn; one sister, Victoria Slobko of CT, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two infant brothers named Andrew, a sister Stella Kwiecinski and Mary Ostapchuk. . His Funeral will be held on Saturday at 9 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St location, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited. A visitation will be held on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
