Obituary of William J. Reynolds

William J. Reynolds, 64, of Peabody, died early Wednesday morning at the Tippett Hospice Home in Needham following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Phyllis (Broderick) Reynolds with whom he shared over 13 years of marriage. Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Joseph and May (Wall) Reynolds. He was a lifelong resident of Peabody and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Lynn. He served for the city of Peabody for over 35 years as a Fire Fighter, retiring in 1999. During that time, Bill also worked as a master electrician for J. Barnes Electric in Lynn. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernia, Division 11, Knights of Columbus, Leo Council #508 and the Italian American Club, all in Peabody. He enjoyed cooking, especially for the fire department and the membership of his clubs. He also was an avid fisherman and enjoyed gardening, and was a member of the Boston Gaelic Irish Brigade. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by a son, Joseph Reynolds of Orlando, Fla., a daughter, Jennifer Truesdale of Hampton, NH, a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Frederick Acres of Beverly, two granddaughters, Kristen and Megan Truesdale, and is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Dorothy Melanson and Arlene Calello. His funeral service will be held on Saturday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Ann’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody
