Obituary of Mary A. Williams
Mary A. (Waldron) Williams, beloved wife of the late Thomas E. Williams, died Monday morning at the Ledgewood Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Beverly following a long illness.
Born in County Mayo, Ireland, she was the daughter of the late James and Marie (Duffy) Waldron. She emigrated to the United States as a young woman and settled in the North Shore are, where she lived in the Peabody area for the last 60 years.
Mrs. Williams was a Practical Nurse at the Salem Hospital for over 10 years before retiring in 1969, then went on to work as Private Duty Nurse until her complete retirement in the early 1980’ s.
She was a long-time communicant of St. John the Baptist Church in Peabody, and was very active in parish life. She was a member of the Ladies Sodality.
She is survived by: a son and daughter-in-law, J. Thomas & Patricia Williams of Hamilton; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary & Michael Schulze of Peabody; two grandchildren, Joshua M. Schulze of Orlando, FL, and Mariah Williams of Hamilton; one sister, Beatrice Marren of Salem, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Martin J. Waldron, John Waldron, William Waldron, and sister Julia M. Keane, and was sister-in-law of the late M. Ruth Williams, John Williams, Charles Williams, and James Williams.
Her funeral will be held on Friday at 10 AM. From the Conway facility at 12 Chestnut St. of the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in ST. John’ s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited.
A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8 PM Burial will be in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem.
