Obituary of Karl S. Anderson
Karl S. Anderson, 93, of Peabody, husband of the late Louise (Bourgeois) Anderson, died Friday March 30, 2007 at the Jewish Rehabilitation Center in Swampscott.
Mr. Anderson was born on July 23, 1913 in Lynn son of the late Albin and Engla (Hanson) Anderson. He was raised and educated in Lynn and moved to Peabody in 1927.
Mr. Anderson began his working career at H.P. Hood where he was employed for 17 years as a supervisor. From 1957 to 1961, he owned and operated the Red Chimney Inn. From 1961 to 1972 he was employed as a salesman with C. Mason Movers, retiring in 1978 from Fay Transportation where he had been employed as a driver for the previous 6 years. Following his retirement, he volunteered 2 days a week at the J.B. Thomas Hospital. He was a member of the Peabody Council on Aging, the Peabody Senior Citizens, was a 32nd Degree Mason and he belonged to the Bethlehem Lodge in Lynn and the Aleppo Temple Shrine in Burlington.
He is survived by a 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Carl J. and Joan L. Anderson of Peabody and Victor F. Anderson of Naples, Idaho; a brother, George Anderson of Northfield NY; 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. His siblings Lily Chase, Dorothy Chiaradonna, Ivar, Victor and Berthel Anderson pre deceased him.
His funeral service will be held Monday April 2, 2007 at 10 a.m. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. (new location Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Sunday 3 to 6 p.m. Burial in St. Jean Cemetery, Lynn. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown MA 02472.
