Obituary of Volney Staco
Volney Staco, 83, of Peabody, died early Wednesday morning at the Lahey Clinic in Peabody Following a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Suzy (Tassy) Staco.
Born in Haiti, he was the son of the late Albert and Tulie (Douyon) Staco. He was raised and educated in Haiti, later immigrated to the United States where he settled in Chelsea for many years, and has spent the last 7 years living in Peabody.
He worked for the Philips Company as a store manager for many years before retiring. He enjoyed stamp collecting, photography and was an avid reader who enjoyed reading about World War I and II.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Eddy and Miguelina Staco of Peabody and Stanley and Camille Staco of Bridgewater, a daughter and son-in-law, Diana and William Mercedo of Lynn, and is also survived by nine grandchildren.
His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody Facility to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 6:00 until 9:00 PM.
