Aura Maria “ Nana “ Ortiz
PEABODY---Aura Maria “Nana” Ortiz, 80, died Wednesday evening at the Pilgrim Rehab and Skilled Nursing Center in Peabody following a long illness.
Born in Santiago, Dominican Republic, she was the daughter of the late Pedro Borbon and Aurelia Ortiz. She emigrated to the United States, settling in Peabody where she lived for the last 45 years.
Mrs. Ortiz was a Housekeeper with the Hotel above Skal’s Lounge in Peabody, and also worked as an Assembler with A.T. & T. and also a Stitcher with New England Sportswear in Peabody.
She is survived by: a daughter, Bianca Pena of Peabody; three sons, Angel David Gonzalez of Boston, Bartolo Gonzalez and Euclides “Chino” Gonzalez both of Salem; 15 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren; a sister, Dolores Rodriguez of the Dominican Republic, and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 10 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in ST. John the Baptist Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited.
A visitation will be held on Friday from 5 to 8 P.M.
Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody
