Obituary of Robert J. "Bob" Pike

Robert J. “Bob” Pike, 68, husband of Eileen F. (Cleary) Pike of Peabody, died Wednesday April 18, 2007 at the E.N. Rogers Hospital in Bedford after a lengthy illness. Mr. Pike was born on March 25, 1939, in Newburyport, son of the late Jeremiah and Hetty (Farnsworth) Pike. He was raised in Haverhill and graduated from Haverhill Trade School class of 1957. He then served in the U.S. Navy from May 1958 until receiving his honorable discharge in June of 1962. He has been a resident of Peabody since 1969. He later pursued his education and received a B.S. in History in 1981 from Boston State College. Mr. Pike was employed for 27 years as a vocational school teacher at the Shawsheen Technical Trade School in Billerica until his disability retirement 11 years ago. Bob was an avid catch and release freshwater fly fisherman at NH mainstreams and also fished in Alaska. He traveled with his family throughout every State in the U.S. and also in Canada and Mexico. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and his wife, Jeremiah C. and Jennifer Weatherbee-Pike of Seabrook NH; his 8 month old grandson, Caden R. Weatherbee-Pike of NH; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. His sister Virginia Rawnsley pre deceased him. His funeral will be held Monday April 23, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. (new location) Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Sunday 3 to 7 p.m. Burial in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers.
