Obituary of Joao P. Enes

Joao P. Enes PEABODY—Joao P. Enes, 94, beloved husband of Maria Madalana (Rodrigues) Enes of Peabody, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday evening following a brief illness. Born in Terceira, Azores, Portugal, he was the son of the late Antonio P. da Rosa and Vitoria do Carmo Enes. He lived there for most of his life before emigrating to the United States, settling in Peabody where he lived for nearly 31 years. Mr. Enes worked at the Kernwood Restaurant in Lynnfield for about seven years before retiring. He enjoyed walking around his neighborhood, tending to his garden, yet he especially cherished his grandchildren and great-granddaughters, as well as social gatherings of family and friends. He will be dearly missed by his family, including: his wife, Maria Madalana (Rodgrigues) Enes of Peabody; a daughter and son-in-law, Odete & Perfirio Dinis of Peabody; two grandsons, Luciano Dinis and Victor Dinis, both of Peabody, and two great-granddaughters, Kayla Dinis and Sara Dinis of Peabody. A visitation will be held on Friday from 5 to 8 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody. His funeral will be held on Saturday at 9 AM from the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
