Obituary of Shawn Patrick Serpa
Shawn Patrick Serpa, 37, of Peabody, died Thursday evening at the Salem Hospital following a brief illness.
Born in Salem, he was the son of Jack McGaughy and the late Alda M. Serpa. He was a lifelong resident of Peabody and attended Peabody Public Schools.
Prior to his illness, he enjoyed landscaping and was working at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Salem. He also enjoyed cooking and catering for various restaurants in and around the North Shore
Shawn was a loving and caring man who enjoyed spending time with the elderly. He also enjoyed traveling and traveled extensively throughout Europe. He also enjoyed painting houses as well.
Shawn is survived by his loving sister, Roxanne Serpa of Peabody, a brother, Sage Miller of Danvers, his beloved grandmother with whom he lived with, Mary L Serpa of Peabody, a nephew, Ryan Serpa of Peabody, and his long time friend and neighbor, Mrs. Couceiro of Peabody. He was the grandson of the late William Serpa.
The Family also wishes to thank all of the nurses from Davenport 8 at the Salem Hospital for all of their loving and compassionate care they had for Shawn.
His Funeral Service will be held on Monday Night at 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody Facility, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 4:00 until 8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shawn Patrick Serpa Memorial Fund, 5111 Crane Brook Way, Peabody, MA 01960.
