Obituary of Mario Priante

Mario Priante, 90, beloved husband of Regina (Carrarini) Priante, died unexpectedly on Monday afternoon at the Peabody Glen Skilled Nursing Center in Peabody following a brief illness. Born in Montorso, Italy, he was the son of the late Giovanni and Anna (Bolcato) Priante. He lived there in his youth, served in the Italian Army during World War II, then emigrated to the United States, settling in Peabody. He lived here for the last 54 years. He was a Leather Worker at Victory Tanning in Peabody for many years before his retirement. Mr. Priante was a communicant at St. John the Baptist Church in Peabody, and enjoyed gardening in his yard with vegetables and flowers, and loved classical and opera music. He is survived by his wife, Regina (Carrarini) Priante of Peabody, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage; one daughter, Angela Hermsdorf of Peabody, three nieces Elizabeth & Thomas Kehoe and Anita McLaughlin, both of VA, and Mary & Michael Schwartz of RI, and many nieces and nephews in Italy. His funeral will be held on Saturday at 10 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St. location, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in St. John’ s Church, Peabody. Relatives and friends kindly invited. A visitation will be held on Friday from 5 - 8 PM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
