Obituary of Marjorie A. (Perkins) Croughwell

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Marjorie A.(Perkins) Croughwell would like to announce her peaceful passing on Tuesday morning, May 1, 2007 at her home. She was surrounded by her loving and devoted family. Mrs. Croughwell was the daughter of the late Charles and Edith (Warrington) Perkins. She was the devoted wife of the late John Croughwell. She was a lifelong resident of Peabody and a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1947. Marjorie leaves behind 5 devoted and loving children, Linda and her husband James Shirley of Lynn, Edward and Soraya Croughwell of Peabody, Jean and Robert Petrino of Merrimac, Michael and Rosa Croughwell of Methuen and James and Cynthia Croughwell of Peabody, a sister, Doris and her husband Blake Cloonen of Peabody, a sister-in-law, Mary Perkins of Danvers, and 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She was the sister of the late Charles E. Perkins, Jr. While raising her young children, Mrs. Croughwell started her own cake decorating business and later she worked for many years as a cashier at the former IGA store in Peabody and finally, before retiring in 1997, she worked an additional 12 years for the Bostik Company in Middleton. Marjorie was a member of the “Red Hatters,” women’s group in Peabody, she also was a member of the Peabody Historical Society, enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was a former “Miss Peabody”. Her funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody Facility, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
