Obituary of Harry C. Kingman Jr.

Harry C. Kingman Jr., 87, of Alfred Maine and formerly of Peabody, MA, died Friday morning at the Maine Medical Center in Biddeford, Maine after a long illness. He was the husband of the late Mary (Stynes) Kingman and later the late Anne (DeYoung) Kingman. He was born in Beverly, MA on February 29, 1920, and was raised in Salem graduating from Salem High School where he was a member of the golf team. He then entered the US Army in 1942 serving with the Army Air Corps in Normandy and central Europe before his discharge in 1945. Following his discharge he then became a machinist at the United Shoe Machine Corp in Beverly for over 30 years prior to his retirement. He had resided with his family in Peabody for 25 years and in New Hampshire before moving to Alfred Maine 20 years ago. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Jeanne and Stephen Prendergast of Salem, MA, five grandchildren, Karolyn Golin, Barbara Heaps, Kyle Hincman, Stephen and Kevin Prendergast and seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late John and Jeffrey Kingman and Maryanne Hincman. A visitation will be held on Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Ann’s Church, Lynn St., Peabody at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Charity of your choice.
