Obituary of Julia L. (Georges) Birch
Julia L. (Georges) Birch, 90, of Salem and formerly of Lynn, wife of the late Walter Birch, died Friday at Radius Healthcare of Danvers.
Mrs. Birch was born on June 28, 1916, in Lynn daughter of the late Arthur and Mary (Moscovich). She was raised in Lynn and graduated from Lynn Classical High School. She resided in Lynn before moving to Salem in 1992.
Mrs. Birch was employed for 30 years as an inspector at the General Electric West Lynn Plant until her retirement in 1975. As hobbies, she enjoyed writing poetry, listening to classical music and reading.
Mrs. Birch is survived by her siblings, Michael Georges of Nahant, James Georges of AZ, Helen Lampes of Lynn, Christine Martin of Peabody and Irene Eddy of NH; her nieces, Janice Koskey of Lynn, Pamela Koskey of Haverhill, Maryanne Koskey of FL and several other nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Her sisters Anne Koskey and Olga Covert pre deceased her.
The family will receive relatives and friends Wednesday May 9, 2007 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Burial of ashes will be held at Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead.
