Obituary of Barbara Agnes (Worthen) Brown
Barbara Agnes (Worthen) Brown, 76, of Peabody, died early Friday morning at the Beverly Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Warren “Brownie” Brown who died in 1998.
She was born in Haverhill, Ma on July 16, 1930, the daughter of the late Charles and Agnes (Schmottlach) Worthen and had resided in Peabody most of her life.
She was a graduate of Peabody High School in 1948 and was first employed at the former CBS Hytron in Danvers. She later worked at the Hot Watt Company in Danvers for 30 years prior to her retirement in 2003.
She enjoyed knitting and playing solitaire and had a love for animals, especially her cat “Pumkin”.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Jeanne and Antonio Coimbra and Linda Keyes all of Peabody; five grandchildren, Brian Keyes of Australia, William Keyes of New Mexico, Adam, Alex and Alana Coimbra all of Peabody, five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Donald Worthen.
A visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Her Funeral Service will be held there on Monday at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
