Obituary of Jeffery A. "Jeff" Sparkas

Jeffery A. “Jeff” Sparkas, 48, of Southborough, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 after being stricken at his home. Jeff was born on October 14, 1959 in Honolulu, Hawaii son of George A. Sparkas and the late Marlene L. (Deibler) Sparkas. He was raised in Peabody and graduated from Peabody Veterans Memorial High School Class of 1977. In 1978, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and attained the rank of Sergeant before being honorably discharged in 1984. He later pursued his education in electronics at several trade schools and Massachusetts colleges. He moved to Southborough in 1988. Jeff was employed for 21 years as an electronics technician for the Massachusetts Water Resource Authority in Southborough. Jeff was always involved with his work and he and one of his engineer friend at MWRA designed an automatic water sampler machine and were written up in one of the MWRA publications. In addition to his father of Peabody, Jeff is survived by 2 brothers and their wives, Randall S. and Todi Sparkas of Danvers and Kevin J. and Cynthia Sparkas of Lynnfield; a sister, Leslie R. Sparkas of Peabody; 4 nieces and 2 nephew, Jami Norman of Henderson NV, Brittany and Taylor Sparkas of Danvers and Meghan, Alexander and Zachary Sparkas of Lynnfield; his aunts and uncles, Connie and Frank Spicer of Arlington, VA, Mary McDonald of Salem and Michael Apostolos of Newbury and many cousins. A private family service was held at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Burial was in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
