Obituary of Ida R. (Marshall) Maria

PEABODY - Ida R. (Marshall) Maria, wife of the late Joseph Maria, died in Medina, OH on Monday March 23, 2009. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late John and Ludovina (Silva) Marshall. She lived in Peabody most of her life where she attended schools. She graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1937. Mrs. Maria was a Sales Clerk with Filene's at the North Shore Mall in Peabody for over 25 years before her retirement. Ida was involved with the community in several ways. She was a longtime communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Peabody, the Holy Ghost Society, and was a Girl Scout Leader in her younger years. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Patricia Santisi of FL and and Joanne & Gene Cammett of Medina, OH; five grandchildren, Peter Santisi, Anthony Santisi, Pamela Santisi McMasters and Leslee Cammett Murphy and Tara Cammett; two great-grandchildren, Connor Murphy & Brendan Murphy, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death, besides her husband and parents, by siblings John, George, Louis and James Marshall, and Mary Tavares, Evelyn Lorenco. Following cremation, a visitation will be held on Thursday from 5 to 8 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Friday at 9 AM in the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Peabody. Urn burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem. Memorial donations may be made to any hospice organization or Alzheimer's Association National Office, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL .
