Obituary of Frances A. (Mac Cormack) Clifford

Peabody - Frances A. (Mac Cormack) Clifford, 89, beloved wife of the late Robert J. Clifford, died unexpectedly Sunday at the North Shore Medical Center - Salem Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Augustus and Genevieve (McCauley) Mac Cormack. She grew up there and graduated from Lynn English High School. After working at Cushman's Bakery and G.E. in Lynn, she enlisted in the United States Women's Army Corps serving in the European Theatre during World War II. Frances was known for her humility and teaching her children and grandchildren how to value family life, and she will also be remembered as one with a feisty attitude. She enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren's participation in hockey, baseball, basketball, figure skating and was a fan of New England sports teams. She enjoyed being with her family whether at the beach in Lynn, going to Monte's in Lynn, watching parades, traveling to Cape Cod, watching her sitcoms or listening to music at the park in Peabody Square or at the Esplanades on July 4th. She is survived by: two sons and a daughter-in-law, John T. & Barbara Clifford of Lee, NH and Blane Clifford of Peabody; two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna F. & Mike Kravchuk and Karen J. & Dean Mc Clory both of Peabody; seven grandchildren, Tanya Lyndsey and Michael Kravchuk, Katie and Joshua McClory, Marissa and Benjamin Clifford; three great-grandchildren, Robert M. Rapino, Tessa Anabel McClory Vaughn, and Evelyn A. Lafond; she was the last living of seven other siblings including Mary Dunn, Helen Bates, Gus, Jack and George MacCormack, Alice Rohlfing, and Bell Hamill; and she leaves many nieces and nephews A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Friday at 10 AM in the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in St. John's Church, Peabody. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 460 Totten Pond Road, Suite 400, Waltham, MA 02451-1991.
