I was born 31 years later than Theresa and came to enjoy having a much older first cousin. I grew up in PA and first met Theresa in the 70's when my family visited the Kendall clan in Salem. She was indeed a fiesty woman who always spoke her mind. We got to know each other better when I lived in Boston in the late 80s. She told me things about my father's life as a young man that I was unaware of. In 1989 I moved from Boston to Dallas, TX but spoke to my "cuz" on her birthday each year. I lost touch with her when she entered the nursing facility and her home phone was disconnected. When I take early retirement next year, one of my first plans was to go visit her. Obviously, this won't happen now.

We are so sorry for your loss but we also know that Theresa is happy now and in a better place. We watched each day as she waited for God to call her. The staff at Grovesnor gave her love and wonderful care. She was my mother's roommate for nearly four months and during that time, we talked french to her and gave her attention when we were there. Looking at her picture, we can tell that she had a zest for life and was full of love and fun. It was a pleasure to have met her. We regret that we didn't have time to know her better. Those of us who can will be at her memorial mass on Monday.

God Bless

The family of Jeanne Guilmette.

I am very sad to hear that Theresa has passed away. I know that her sense of humor and delightful laugh will be missed by everyone with whom she came in contact. "Aunt" Theresa was my mom's best friend, her mood always lifted just mentioning Theresa's name. Aunt Theresa had a great love of life that we witnessed as kids, when she would sing, laugh and tell stories with my mother about their escapades as young women. I know that Theresa had a huge influence on my mom and that Theresa was the sister that she never had.

I'm so grateful that I could share an afternoon with my dad and Aunt Theresa back in 2009, to visit their old haunts as well as enjoy an east coast lobster!

I think of my mom and Aunt Theresa now in heaven, arm in arm, belting out french songs with great gusto, and entertaining all the angels. My prayers are with her family.

Sarah Preece Vinnedge
Daughter of Maryanne Dunn Preece
