Obituary of Theresa A. Kendall

Theresa A. Kendall, 85, of Salem, died on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at the Grosvenor Park Nursing Center in Salem. Theresa was born in Salem, MA on April 21, 1926 the daughter of Victor and Elise (Levesque) Kendall. Theresa was raised and educated in Salem and was a lifelong resident of the city. She began her working career as a bookkeeper at Naumkeag Trust Company in Salem a position she held until 1984. She was then employed as a bookkeeper / secretary at the Salem House and Window Cleaning Company until the late 1990’s. She was a parishioner at St. Joseph Church in Salem until its closing. She enjoyed music, as well as signing , knitting and reading. Theresa is survived by her nieces and nephew, Claire (Ouellette) LeBrun, Alice (Ouellette) Jordan both of Salem, Albert Ouellette of Gulfport, FL, and Cheryl (Kendall) Terry of Hampton, NH; 8 great nieces and nephews and 11 great great nieces and nephews. Her nephew Brian Kendall, her siblings Rosario Kendall, Albert Kendall and Jeanne D’Arc Ouellette, and her step-mother Aurelie Kendall predeceased her. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 9, 2011 at 9 a.m. in St. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem. At Theresa’s request there will be no visiting hours. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923. Her burial of ashes will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Salem following her Mass. Arrangements are under the direction of the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody.
