Obituary of Mary Ann Maguire

Mary A. (Karolides) Maguire, a lifetime resident of Peabody, passed into Spirit surrounded by the light and love of her family on Friday, May 20, 2011. Mary was the beloved daughter of Thomas and Sophie “Mimi” (Staszewski) Karolides both of Peabody. Mary is also survived by her children Beth (Maguire) Miller and her husband Marc Miller of Amesbury, Robert W. Maguire Jr. of Rowley, Maura Smith and her husband Robert Smith of Peabody and Jeffrey Maguire and his wife Christine Maguire of Peabody. Mary was predeceased by her adored daughter, Karen Maguire, and her treasured sister-in-law Sandra Karolides. She was the cherished Grandmother to Amanda, Holly and Robert Smith and Joseph and Patrick Maguire all of Peabody. Mary also leaves behind her devoted brothers, Paul and William “Billy” Karolides and several much loved nieces and nephews. Mary was very proud of and inspired many with her gifts of healing energy and mediumship as a Reverend and Pastor of Spiritualism. Throughout her life Mary loved and participated in sports and she was an avid “Sox Fan.” Mary was an insurmountable opponent in Scrabble, Cribbage and cards. She also enjoyed walking, Reading, Music and Tai Chi. Mary was especially blessed with the love and friendship of Carol and the late Ralph Cogan. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 24, from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility followed by a brief Reflection in celebration of Mary’s Life.
