I'm a teacher at PVMHS but never had the pleasure of having Ryan as a student. However, we'd often cross paths in the cafeteria or halls. He always offered a warm smile. We had several short conversations about school, life, the future, etc. He told me he'd tried to sign up for my class because he'd heard I was a "cool teacher" but it never fit into his schedule. I remember feeling honored by that comment.
I once substituted for his first period class, Child Development, towards the middle of the second semester. At the end of the period, we walked out of the room together. I joked and mentioned he was pretty lucky being the only guy in the class. He laughed and smiled. I asked him if he felt like he was learning in there - if he thought it'd help him be a better parent, when the time comes. He thought for a quick moment and then answered "I don't know how much that class is going to help but I think I'll be a good dad." I know he would have.
Your loss is something that no family should have to go through. A young man with so much potential was taken much too soon. I can not express how sorry I am for what has happened. Ryan will always be remembered, by me and the rest of the Peabody High School community. My condolences.

I never knew Ryan but I lost my twin brother at 18 years old, also had CCB funeral home arrange the services, and my brother was also buried at Puritan Lawn Cemetary. He also graduated from Peabody High. So many of the details are parallel-very strange. I remember vividly the pain of that time and wanted to sincerely send my thoughts and prayers your way. There is nothing anyone can say to ease your sadness but allow your friends and family to listen to you or even just stand next to you- that is the only thing that helps. Know that he is still with you in spirit and watching over you every day.

Please accept my condolences for your loss. I never had the pleasure of meeting Ryan or his family, however I feel the need to let the family know that they are in my prayers. My family lost my brother in the same manner last week and know the pain that they are experiencing. Although I will never understand why God decided to take either of these incredible sons, brothers and friends, for today I will accept it as God's will not mine. Some day he may reveal his reasons to us. Again, please accept my condolences.

I and my family will sorely miss Ryan. He has been, to us, a family member and watching him grow up was a true blessing and pleasure. Seeing him ride his bike by with always a wave and a smile. We will reflect upon all the great times we had during our years of hockey. He was a tremedous athlete, friend and a true inspiration on the ice. Our hearts and prayers go to all the family members and we will not go a day without thinking of him and his parents.

Please accept our heart filled condolences.

The Merryman Family
