I've only known Rick for about a year now, but that one year, has impacted my life to its fullest extent. Rick was a kind, cheerful man that i always enjoyed talking to. From golf, Peabody football, and his beloved nephew, Kyle, our conversations were always filled with laughter and happiness. He will be truely missed by everyone that has ever come in contact with him. He was a man of great intelligence, and love. Even though Rick was limited to activities, I have never seen anyone live life to it's fullest potential as he did.

To the family, i send my dearest condolences. He will truely be missed.

Love,
Aimee

Rick, I never thought you would be taken from us so suddenly, nor did I understand how deeply I would feel your loss. Although you were gravely ill for so many years, you consistently engaged in life. Where your body failed, your spirit soared. Your courage gave us all reason to pause. I and I am sure others would agree, learned a lot from you Rick, even though you never volunteered to be the teacher. In considering your life, you were truly blessed with Carol, Ryan and Kaylan, family and great friends who allowed your spirit to flourish. Although you liked to go unnoticed and not be made a big deal of, you left us a legacy that will not soon be forgotten. I will miss you, until we meet again.

I cannot sum up in a paragraph all that Rick means to me, or so many of the people who have had the privilege and honor of knowing him. He was one of the most inspirational and amazing people I will ever meet, and although his debilitating illness challenged him more each day, he taught all who knew him the true meaning of determination, courage, and indomitable strength. Ricky, I am a better person for having had you in my life.. and you have left this world a far better place having had you in it. I thank you for your wonderful friendship and all you have taught me. You are a force ..and your light illuminated a kindness which drew everyone to you. I was lucky enough to be able to stand in that light for 35+ years. I love you and will miss you more than you will ever know.

I was quite saddened when I got news of Rick's passing. He will be missed deeply by everyone, and I say everyone because he literally knew everyone. I remember when a quick run to home depot would turn into a three hour adventure with Rick because he knew half of the customers and would teach them how to do what they were trying to do. Rick was a great uncle, and and most importantly a great friend to everyone who knew him.
Love,
Kyle
