Obituary of Nancy M. Reardon Blanaru

Nancy M. (Marshall) Reardon Blanaru, 69, of Peabody, died Sunday afternoon at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a courageous battle against ovarian cancer. She was the devoted wife of the late Daniel Blanaru and John “Jack” Reardon, Jr. Born in Arlington, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Townsend) Marshall. She was raised and educated in Woburn and graduated from St. Charles High School. She then attended Emmanuel College and graduated in 1963. She later returned to school and received her Master’s Degree from Lesley College at the age of 50. Nancy worked for over 30 years for the City of Peabody where she taught at both the Brown School and the Higgins Middle School before retiring in 2004. Nancy also taught CCD at St. Ann’s Church in Peabody and was a Docent at Stevens-Coolidge House, Trustees of Reservations in North Andover. Nancy is survived by a daughter Patricia “Patti” Reardon of Peabody, and a son Sean Reardon of Medford, a brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Dottie Marshall of Centerville, and a sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Kenneth Totas of West Hyannisport, and is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and by her dog “Harry Truman Marshall” Her funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
