Obituary of Pat "Leo" Siciliano

Pat Leo Siciliano 88 years formerly of West Peabody, husband of the late Elizabeth Lilo (Dekant) Siciliano, died Saturday afternoon in the Baldwinville Nursing Home in Baldwinville MA. Mr. Siciliano was born December 3, 1916 in Boston son of the late Antonio and Marianne (Pagnotta) Siciliano. He was raised in east Boston and graduated from East Boston High School class of 1934. In 1962 he moved to West Peabody where he resided before moving to Baldwinville in 2001. During WWII he served in the United States Army and saw battle in the European Theater of Operations. Mr. Siciliano began his 40 year working career as a longshoreman at the Charlestown Navy Yard. He then became a steamship clerk at the ship building division, a position which he held until his retirement in 1982. He devoted his entire life to his family and would help anyone in need. He was a member of the International Longshoremen’ s Association and an avid Red Sox fan. He is survived by a son an his wife, Bernd and Susan Dekant of Winchendon; 2 brothers, Alfred and Joseph Siciliano of Peabody; 4 grandchildren, Christine Dekant of FL, Peter Dekant and Greg Mellor-Dekant both of Winchendon and Barbara Dekant-Appt of Gloucester; 4 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Pre deceased by a sister Catherine Siracusa. His funeral will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St. location, Peabody followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Wednesday 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Baldwinville Nursing Home activities fund, 51 Hospital Rd., Baldwinville MA 01436.
