As I stood in an endless line and witnessed and participated in the many praises and fond recollections of Ellen's achievements, my eyes filled with tears as I reminisced and travelled back 60 years to Kindergarten where I first met your kind, radiant and loveable Ellen. Her beautiful red hair and brilliant eyes made us all love her. It was a privilege to later work with her as colleagues and a privilege for my daughter who states that Ellen was the best teacher she has ever had. It is even a greater privilege to know the man who cared for and cherished Ellen. She is a sweetheart. Bill, may you dwell in the beautiful memories you both have created together. Our deep love and respect.

How could we not include you for you and she were the salt and pepper, the ying and yang, and at times the oil and vinegar, that spiced so many of our lives. I knew her through the musicals she produced at Higgins Middle School. I absolutely adored her, she made the shows so much fun to be in and rehearse for. Ellen was a sweetheart to everyone, and always was willing to give all a chance. I am blessed to have been able to know her. My heart sincerely goes out to all of her family and loved ones. Im so sorry to hear the loss of Ms Carlin, she was such a big and undeniable influence in so many of the lives she touched. I'll always remember the wonderful years in middle school, I had the pleasure of being in the Higgins Middle School plays and Five Star Theatre summer camps. Those were some of the best times in my life. "They were more like Broadway Productions", I remember a family member who would come to see me would say! And yes they truly were. Ms Carlin and Mr. Endslow put so much of themselves into what they did. Everything they did was purely for our benefit. Ill always remember and my parents as well; When Ms Carlin decided to use my dog Sega ( German Shepherd) to play Sandy in Annie. That by far is one of our fondest memories we have of our beloved Sega who has passed on, we still talk about it to this day how you could hear the whole audience gasp when he makes his first entrance on stage. We watch the video's on VHS and smile. Its because of teachers like Ms Carlin I've decided to become a teacher myself. She truly was such an inspiration. God Bless Ms Carlin. I was quite fortunate to have her as my teacher during two separate years while a student at the McCarthy Elementary School.

According to school yearbook - "McCarthy Memories", she was 8 years old when she decided to become a teacher. Also, the fact that her father was an educator influenced her early decision. Whatever was the reason, I cannot thank her enough for educating me and being part of my early life.

Bill, my sincerest condolences for your/our collective loss. Ellen, or Miss. Carlin, as I knew her in the 5th grade of McCarthy School, was always a source of inspiration. I recall on one particular field trip when she brought you along as you entertained the bus in a way only you could. Mrs. Carlin had attended other shows I was in, and I wsa always glad to see her. Ellen in later years instructed me to call her by her first name because she would laugh and say that I made her feel old if I called her Miss Carlin. I remember her as a Spotlighter, she was truly supportive to all her friends and students. When she lived on Lowell Street in the 70's she taught my sister Amy. We will all miss her.

Bill and Ellen Endslow are responsible for shaping the lives of many young people in the greater Boston area for over 30 years. I am one of them. One of many. Their camp "Five Star" provided for an opportunity for countless numbers of creative performers with an otherwise unavailable outlet to indulge in their craft. Together they taught us invaluable lessons on and off the stage. I could never express how grateful I am for the wonderful opportunities that these two amazing individuals have given me. Ellen had a keen eye for talent and I always took everything she had to offer as the highest order. It saddens me greatly that her life is cut short, but in her time here she impacted so many people that she leaves a beautiful legacy few can compare with. I wish I could be there to support the Endslow family, but as my sister has previously stated, I am in New York pursuing my dream that both Bill and Ellen provided me with the groundwork for. If it wasn't for the two of them, I would not be here. Thank you Ellen. My heart and prayers go out to you Bill. The resounding voice of compassion I've felt here in New York from her passing is a testament to how important you and Ellen are to so many people. We love you. Forever.

In 7th grade I was another kid trying to find his way and lacking complete and all direction. 3 friends forced me to auditions for Ellen's musical. For whatever reason she gave me a chance. Every time I did something she approved of Mrs. Endslow would give this deep belly laugh... those laughs gave me such confidence and that entire experience gave me an outlet to figure out who I am. She was an inspiring woman, never lacking a smile and always with a huge compliment for anyone who needed it. I truly mourn for all the people who will not get to have her pushing them forward onto and forward with their own journeys of discovery. I am so sadden by this news. Mrs. Carlin/Endslow was one of my favorite teachers in middle school. This woman was such a strong influence to many children's lives and the community of Peabody Massachusetts. She was my eighth grade drama teacher and she is made me feel comfortable with myself and my peers, especially in those pre teen years. Before her class you would be part of your own cliques, but in Mrs. Carlin's class everyone worked together because of her positive attitude and welcoming environment. She always had a smile on her face, always had an encouraging critique, and it made you feel good about yourself. She was someone that would make you believe that you can do anything because of her pure soul. I will miss you Mrs. Carlin and I wish I could have told you this in person, but I know in my heart that you knew this. :(...I just read your quote that you loved from Winnie the Pooh and it just affirms what I said..
