Obituary of Anne B. (Wizis) Glebus
Anne B. (Wizis) Glebus, 88 years of Peabody, wife of the late Anthony F. Glebus, died unexpectedly Friday at her home.
Mrs. Glebus was born December 29, 1914 in Manchester NH daughter of the late Peter and Valeria (Balutie) Wizis and raised by her late father and stepmother Anna Wizis. In 1934, she moved to Peabody where she remained for most of her life.
Mrs. Glebus began her working career as a Park Ranger at the Salem Maritime Historical Site in Salem at age 65 and remained there until her retirement in 2000. She was a Silver member of the Peabody Council on Aging, was a former girl scout leader at St. Ann’ s Church in Peabody while raising her family and past secretary to the Ward One Associates.
She is survived by 2 daughters and their husbands, Carol A. Tsoukalas and Peter J. Tsoukalas Sr. of Barefoot Bay FL, Frances V. and William L. Bazemore of Hot Spring Village AK; 4 grandchildren, Barbara Bazemore of Winchester, William Bazemore of OK, Robert Bazemore of MT and Peter Tsoukalas Jr. of Peabody and 2 nieces. She was also the grandmother of the late Helen Tsoukalas.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the family lot in St. Joseph Cemetery, Lynn to which relatives and friends are respectfully invited. There will be no visiting hours. Arrangements are by the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Peabody (978-531-0472). Memorial contributions may be made to the Peabody Council on Aging, 79 Central St., Peabody MA 01960.
