How very saddened I was to learn as of today that our most beloved Dean of Residence at Emmanuel has recently passed away. Sr. Ann Rachel epitomized the loving spirit at Emmanuel. Her beautiful smile, generous heart, and her notorious laugh, will never be forgotten by all of the students who loved her. I truly feel heart-broken that I did not see her in her final years. I know that she has reunited with her dear sister,Rita, and hopefully has found my sister, Anne Marie, too. Rest in Paradise, dear Sister Ann!

I interned and then worked for Sr. Anne Rachel at Emmanuel College thirty years ago. She was a remarkable woman of wisdom and faith and a valued mentor. Please accept my sincerest sympathy on your loss.

God Bless Sr. Ann who was always so kind and loving to all of us at Emmanuel College. Sr. Ann raised the energy level of any room she entered. She was truly a testament to God's love in action. As a student at Emmanuel College in the 1980s, Sr. Ann was a wise counselor and confidant for me and many others. After college days, she attended my Christmas parties until driving was no longer something she could do. My heart rejoices that she is with our Lord in Heaven. My condolences to Sr. Ann's family of whom she always spoke so highly.
Respectfully,
Melissa Daley

I worked with Sr. Ann Rachel Sharry at Emmanuel College over a quarter century ago. She was a wonderful woman who brought humor and common sense to all of her activities.
Knowing that I had been educated by the Sisters of Notre Dame for 12 years, Sr. Ann came to my office one day with a gift -- a small metal statue of St. Julie Billiart, founder of the order. Saint Julie sits on a bookcase shelf in my den so many years later; I think of Sr. Ann every time I look at it.

To Sr. Ann's family, I am so sorry to hear about Sr. Ann. I have wonderful memories of her at St. Joe's in Somerville. She was a wonderful teacher and mentor to all her students. Her smile would light up the classroom. May she rest in the Peace of the Lord.
