Obituary of Benjamin Charles Tolmei

Benjamin Charles Tolmei, 24 of Boston and formerly of Lynnfield and Miami. FL, died Wednesday afternoon following courageous battle against Cystic Fibrosis. Born in Beverly, he was the son of Jeff Tolmei and Sandra Peruffo. He was raised and educated in Lynnfield and was a graduate of Lynnfield High School, class of 2007. He continued on and attended Lynn University in Boca Raton, FL., where he is a member of the alumni association. He traveled extensively throughout the United States, Europe, Central America and the Caribbean. Some of his fondest memories were about the time he spent doing humanitarian work in Kingston, Jamaica volunteering for the Food for the Poor organization. One of his greatest adventures was his internship for MTV in New York City. Besides his loving parents, Ben is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Rebecca and Michael McGrath of Gloucester, his grandmothers, Dorothy Peruffo and Alice Tolmei of Peabody, his aunts and uncles, Joyce and Leo Connors of Middleton, Sueanne Murphy and Fred Smuckler of Beverly, Bob and Janet Peruffo of Carabassett, ME and Tom and Andrea Vitagliano of Killingworth, CT., a godchild, Avery Rose Conley of Ipswich and by his dog, Dwayne. A Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 1:00 PM at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Grove St., Lynnfield, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be sent in his name to Food for the Poor, Benjamin Tolmei Memorial Fund, C/O Eastern Bank, 102 Lynn St., Peabody, MA01960.
