We are so sorry to hear of Frank's passing. Although it's been more than 10 years since he and Betty moved from Burke Place, we still think of them as we look across the street at number 113. They were good, good neighbors and friends. And we loved and admired the two of them. Last night after hearing of Frank's passing, we sat around and told "Frank" stories. Most of them revolved around Frank on Burke Place, and were funny or sweet. But others started with "Did you know Frank did this... or was that?" A great man. It was our privilege to know him, and our pleasure to remember him and Betty. Please accept our deepest condolences. Len & Pat Marshall and family.

Frank and Betty were great friends of my family. They were among the first residents of our neighborhood as were my Mom and Dad, the Carney's, Belluzzi's, Fiesta's, Bell's and many others who became close friends. As a kid, I remember wonderful parties and BBQs with all of these families. My Dad use to call Frank "The Wash" because he always had the latest news in the neighborhood. Just before he moved to MA he gave me an old Schaefer Beer bottle bank which my father had given to him many years ago.

Many times he would pick me up while I was waiting for the bus on Rt 17 to go to work. He worked at the UN and I worked at MetLife on Madison Ave. He always made me late but the trip was worth it.

In later years, he was the Mayor of our neighborhood. He knew everyone and would always stop to talk during his walks. We've missed him and Mrs Ach since they moved but my Mom, wife and I will always remember them.

Shirley Franklin
Cindy & Joe Franklin

May 10, 2013- Frank was such a wonderful friend of my dad's. They'd go to the Spa together before it was fashionable, and then come home for a few drinks. When my mom and dad got sick, he was always there with a happy smile, a great story, and even a prayer. I'm sure my dad, mom, Betty and Frank are once again enjoying a few good laughs over a drink. He was a great man and a special friend. With our deepest sympathy and prayers, the entire Sammartine Family...Andrea and Chuck LoBue, Patricia and Jim Johnston, Annette and Steve Schmidt, Mary Agnello, and all their kids!

I will miss Frank and his trips to the VA Audiology Clinic in Boston. We had many good talks and he always supplied me with plenty of cryptoquotes, pens and reading material about his service adventures. He and Betty were a great couple and he missed her greatly after she passed. I extend the sympathies of American Legion Post 227 of Middleton where he was a Paid Up For Life Member of the American Legion for 46 years. Rest in peace Comrad. Sincerely, Ted Butler, VSO of Middleton.

Although we lost contact with Frank and Betty when they moved to be closer to Beth, we talk about them frequently in our office. We remember all the great times working with Betty and our contacts with Frank. He loved fun and we all remember when he brought cigars to my father's house and we all lit up. Frank knew my father hated cigar smoke and had a great time causing trouble! He was a wonderful man and I am sure he is already missed by his family. Please accept our sincere condolences.
William & Leslie Main
