Obituary of Richard P. Pilotte

Richard P. Pilotte PEABODY—Richard P. Pilotte, 69, beloved husband of Priscilla (Derocher) Pilotte of Peabody, died peacefully on Wednesday morning July 24, 2013 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, while in the comforting presence of his family. Born in Manchester, NH, he was the son of the late Omer and Irene (Ducharme) Pilotte. He lived there for several years, and mostly grew up in Lynn. He graduated from Essex Agricultural High School in Danvers, Class of 1961. He lived in Peabody for many years. Mr. Pilotte worked as an automobile service technician for 36 years, with Commodore Lincoln-Mercury in Peabody and the last few years with Thomas Ford in Beverly before retiring. Richard was an outdoorsman who enjoyed nature. He liked hunting, gardening, and visiting family in Canada. He was an avid animal lover who enjoyed rescuing animals in his neighborhood. He was devoted to his family and those who knew him appreciate all he did for them, and they will dearly miss him. He is survived by his wife Priscilla (Derocher) Pilotte of Peabody, with whom he shared 27 years of marriage; a step-daughter, Kelly Silk & her husband Scott of Salem; a son Richard Pilotte, Jr. of FL; five grandchildren, Alyshia Silk of Peabody, Emma Moreland, Christopher Moreland, Gary Silk and Daniel Silk all of Salem; two daughters-in-law, Karen Silk and Laurie Silk, both of Salem; a brother James & his wife Nancy Pilotte of MD, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death, besides his parents, by two step-sons Peter Silk and Gary Silk. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Monday July 29, 2013 at 11:30 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 3 – 6 P.M. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
