Obituary of David Holuk

David Holuk PEABODY—David Holuk, 79, beloved husband of the late Nancy (Egner) Holuk, was called home to be with his Lord and Savoir Jesus Christ. He died unexpectedly on Monday October 7, 2013 with his family by his side at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center Hospital in Burlington after injuries sustained in a fall. Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late James and Lillian (Carson) Holuk. He was a lifelong resident of the city. He served a patriotic duty with service in the United States Navy during the Korean War. David worked as a Foreman with Eastman Gelatin in Peabody, and retired in 1989 in order to enjoy traveling which he loved. David was involved in the community in several ways. He was on the Peabody Planning Committee for developing Centennial Industrial Park. His passion was his faithful devotion to the Calvary Baptist Church in Peabody, where he served as a Deacon for many years. He was also involved with Song Time Ministries of Cape Cod, and the Russian-Ukranian Evangelical Baptist Union (RUEBU). He also loved travel with his wife and enjoyed camping trips with family. He especially enjoyed his trips to Alaska and Hawaii. He enjoyed his summers in Sarasota, FL with his wife and friends of many years. He is survived by his daughters Susan Holuk and Sharon Holuk, both of Saugus; a sister Marion Roush of CA and Lillian Sparks of Cape Cod, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death, besides his wife Nancy and parents, by a brother George Holuk and sisters Elizabeth Zilkow and Mildred Demanchyk. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a visitation on Friday from 5 – 8 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday October 12, 2013 at 11 AM in Calvary Baptist Church, Peabody. Cremation will follow the visitation.
