I was in Vietnam with 'Ski" . He was a a good friend and one great Marine. When we encountered 8 foot high elephant grass he would take the point and plow through the grass, making it much easier for the guys behind him. He was great to have around in a firefight. He was always gregarious. He was liked by everyone. It's such a shame that he died so young. I always meant to get in touch with him...and by the time I looked him up, he'd passed away.
