Obituary of Richard "Diamond Dick" Deleskey

Richard A. Deleskey, 63 of Danvers and formerly of Peabody, died Friday morning at the Ledgewood Nursing Home in Beverly with his family by his side following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Ann (LeFave) Deleskey. Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late Warren and Frances (Folsom) Deleskey. He was raised and educated in Peabody and has lived in Danvers for the past 30 years. “Diamond Dick” as he was known to his friends was a veteran of the Vietnam War who served with the United States Marines and was honorably discharged in 1969. After the war, he was employed as a heavy equipment operator who worked throughout the North Shore for various companies, the last of which was F & F. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing and was a member of VFW Post 1011 in Peabody. Diamond Dick made a lasting impression on everyone he met and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his two sons, Richard Deleskey of Salem and Joseph Deleskey of Maine, his daughter, Jacqueline Talbot of Peabody, his brothers, Warren Deleskey, Jr. of Ipswich, Bruce Deleskey of Bradford and Brian Deleskey of Peabody, his five grandchildren, Joey Deleskey, Jr., Camryn, Devyn, and Cody Deleskey and Sara Talbot and also by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Following cremation, a graveside service will be held on Wednesday at the Veteran Section at CedarGroveCemetery, 100 R Cedar Grove Ave in Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
