Obituary of Ann M. (Cazzara) DeCarlo

Ann M. (Cazzara) DeCarlo PEABODY—Ann M. (Cazzara) DeCarlo, 76, died peacefully at her home on Tuesday April 8, 2014 while in the comforting presence of her family, following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Frank DeCarlo with whom she shared over 50 years of marriage. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Paul & Lena (Furfaro) Cazzara. She lived in Peabody for many years. Ann was an English Teacher in the Salem School Department for 37 years until her retirement in 1999. Ann is survived by her daughter Dianne Whitcomb & her husband William of Peabody; three granddaughters, Angela M. Jacques, MD & her husband Bryan of Beverly, Vanessa A. Lightbown & her fiancé Jon Pierce of Peabody, and Brianna M. Lightbown & her fiancé Jon Eldridge of Peabody and Marietta, GA; an infant granddaughter Danielle, the love of her life. Ann was surrounded by her close-knit family, and predeceased by her sisters Sandra R. Walsh and Dolores E. Parsons. She is survived by her four sisters Barbara Gelineau & her husband Frank of Salem, Paula Burnham of Hudson, NH, Gloria J. Cazzara and Mary M. Cazzara both of Inverness, FL, and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves her treasured friends Cindy Cobb of Coconut Creek, FL and Marie Blair of Salem. Ann’s sister Barbara, her niece Terri Nadeau, dearest friend Diane McGrane and her devoted grandchildren assisted her journey home to the Lord. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Tuesday April 15, 2014 from 9:30 – 10:30 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Service at 10:30 AM.
