Sammy was a very good gardener.. HE always got the first tomatoes on the street in the spring.. I remember one year he decided he might keep varmints away from his plants by scattering garlic colves in the garden and ended up with a serious garlic drop that year..

As a young boy on Saturday mornings I would take the Michaud bus from Sacco's on Lynn St to Peabody square to go bowling at Metto Bowl. Every Saturday Sam would be there with a bunch of other guys bowling on lanes 25 & 26. After a while he would notice me waiting for the bus and would offer me a ride. As an adult I don't bowl much anymore but not too-too long ago I can remember seeing Sam still driving to Metro. Thank you Sam for your kindness and bowling tips.
