Obituary of Robert D Hall

Robert D. Hall, 84, of Florida and formerly of the North Shore, died unexpectedly on Monday February 2 at his home in Florida. He was the devoted husband of Louise (Belisle) Hall with whom he shared over 43 years of marriage. Born in Winthrop, he was the son of the late Samuel and Dorothy (Savageau) Hall. He was a graduate of Beverly High School, class of 1949. He lived throughout the North Shore and has been living in Melbourne Florida for the past 20 plus years. After graduating high school, Robert enlisted with the United States Navy and served during the Korean War. He continued in the Naval Reserve and was ordered to active duty in 1968 and served for three years during the Vietnam War. After that, he enlisted with the United States Coast Guard and served as Chief Warrant Officer 4 and did inspections all over the globe before finally retiring after 22 years of service. While living in Florida he received two separate associates degree and remained very active throughout his retirement. He also was a member of the Masons and Shriners Clubs. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his children, Daniel R Hall of Raymond, NH, Debra A. Pullan of Cape Coral, FL, and Nancy E Sweetser of Wolfeboro, NH, his step children, Russell Raymond of Allenstown, NH, Paul Raymond of Goffstown, NH, David Raymond of Boise, ID and by Kathy Sheehan Getchell of Haverhill, his sister, Dorothy Lewandowski of Peabody and by 22 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brothers, Ronald and James Hall. His Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 12:00 PM noon at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
