Obituary of Gerard "Jerry" Moschella
Gerard “Jerry” Moschella, 85, of Peabody, formerly of Revere, loving husband of Angelina (Iandosca) Moschella, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2016 with his family by his side at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. Jerry was born in Revere on March 21, 1930, the son of Alfonso and Concetta (DiGenio) Moschella. In 1951, after marrying Angelina, he enlisted into the U. S. Army and served in Germany during the Korean War. In 1960, he received an honorable discharge. After being raised in Revere and spending most of his life there, he and his wife moved to Peabody in 2006. Jerry was employed as a foreman for many years at Quirk Tire in Watertown, he later moved into a maintenance crewman position at the Wonderland Race Track. He remained there for 15 years before retiring in 1996. As a parent, Jerry was involved with the many goings-on of his four children, and later in life relished the opportunity to be a doting grandfather to his 5 grandchildren. He was a member of the VFW Mottola Post 4524 in Revere, and enjoyed such hobbies as bowling, horse racing, and following his beloved Patriots. In addition to his wife Angelina with whom he shared 64 years of marriage, he is survived by his children, Paul Moschella of Haverhill, Stephen and Gilda Moschella of Methuen, Robert and Debra Moschella of Peabody, and Connie and Lenny Ryan of Lynn; 5 grandchildren, Lauren Pagliaro, Ashley, Brooke and Megan Moschella, and Matthew Ryan; 2 great grandchildren, L.J. and Layla Pagliaro; a brother and his wife, Anthony and Anna Moschella of Ipswich; a sister, Bonnie Squibb of Revere; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Moschella of Saugus, and several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his siblings, Michael, Joseph, Jean, Louise, Rita and Rose. His family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, February 4, 2016 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. His Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Ann Church, 140 Lynn St., Peabody.
