My heart felt condolences to the Dever family. I'll always remember Tom, as our QB at MMA, tuff, smart and relentless. A leader, he will not be forgotten, "The spirit is the true self, the spirit, the will to win, and the will to excel are the things that endure." Cicero

Steve Stilphen MMA 78

Dear Becka - My sincere condolences to you and the entire Dever family. I remember Tom in high school as a handsome, friendly, and all around nice guy. May you find comfort in knowing you and Tom had something special...You built a wonderful life together, and raised 3 beautiful children together. That's something to be very proud of these days. May your joyful memories remain close to your heart until you meet again.

My sympathies to Becka and the Dever family. I talked to Tom last month about the joy of grandchildren of which he was so excited to receive. The news of Tom's passing is so sad. He was a leader in his industry, could tell a hell of an Irish yarn (even though I think the Dever's were English) and frankly one of the best guys I ever met. I'm kind of angry God for taking him to soon but also regretting I didn't spend more time with him.
RIP Tom Dever... See you on the other side. Stevie Mac

Words can not express my shock at learning of Tom's passing. Even though I had not seen Tom since graduating from MMA we had recently reconnected on Facebook. The pictures posted there were just a glimpse of a man truly loved and respected by his family and friends. Take strength from knowing how much he loved and cherished each of you. I will pray for your strength and healing.

Tom shared the 4 hour ride from Castine to Peaboby with me many many times. We had lots of good laughs on those rides. I would always pick him Sunday at the Bel-Air diner on Rt 1. I had seen him at a couple of reunions and the time he made the 'Wall of Honor'. Facebook has been great to re-connect with him. I missed a call from him about a year ago, I was thinking he was in the area for business, very sorry about that. He certainly left us too soon.

Eileen and I, and our children Lauren and Drake, had the good fortune to live across the street from the Dever's from 1987 to 1994. Our children literally grew up together. At that time, Tom was "a man in full" in every respect. Successful, handsome, loved and respected by everyone who knew him. He was gracious and kind, funny and smart. And he was a great friend to me; bringing me into his circle of loyal friends. I will always be thankful for his friendship and proud to have known him. Even after we moved away, and 20 years later, we remain close with the Dever's, and count them among our BFF's. May God bless him and his family.

Sending love and heartfelt thoughts to my dear friend Becka and to Kiley, Hillary, TJ and the entire Dever family. It had been a while since I'd spoke to Tom, and just last week out of the blue he sent me a message and we chatted back and forth...it was a fun conversation and reminded me of his witty sense of humor and his playful personality...I feel very grateful we made that connection. We are all friends from our high school days and those friendships are the purest of friendships, and reminded me again how even after so many years, it's 'just like yesterday'. I can say for certain, that the Dever family has great strength in love...Becka being the most loving mother to her children and Tom the dearly beloved father....the closeness shared within you all is a tribute to the institution of family and that is indeed what will carry through for years to come. Tom's love will never end...his friendship and love will be forever with Becka and his devotion and love to his children will remain true and everlasting. Rest in Peace, dear Tommy. XOX

Growing up just a few doors down the street, I have so many amazing childhood memories from the Devers... backyard pool parties, endless sleepovers, going to hit golf balls at Richardsons w/ Tom.. I remember Tom used to come pick Hillary and I up from Dance class in Middleton all the time.. I'll never forget, he always had the best sense of humor, making us laugh the entire car ride, we had so much fun. He will be missed immensely by all. Sending my love and prayers to the whole family; Becka, Hillary, Kiley & TJ. Rest in peace, Tom.

To Becka and Family,
I have known Tom for many years going back to our days together at Goulds Pumps. Tom reached out to me in recent times and it was good to rekindle our relationship from years ago. He was one of the most brilliant men I have known in the pump business. I was looking forward to getting him back on the golf course for a few laughs. So sad to hear of his passing...way to young!! With deepest sympathy to the Family!!
Ed Clark
