Gerry & I were very close friends ,growing up on Olney Street Dorchester & going to St.Peter's School. Jed , as he was known as,everyone in Dorchester had a nickname. He was always friendly and never had a bad word to say about anybody.When I was planning to get married my hope was that my old boyhood friend would do the honors. He agreed having been ordained only Six months earlier. Unfortunately when the time came he had to back out because he could not leave his parish that day. I always tried to follow his career.and typical of Gerry it was helping the less fortunate. May you rest in peace Gerry.
