Obituary of E. Frances (Higgins) Foster
E. Frances Fran (Higgins) Foster, 74, of Peabody, died
Tuesday morning at the Lahey Clinic North in Peabody after a short illness. She was the
wife of John F. Foster with whom she shared 44 years of marriage.
She was born in
Lynn on January 19, 1929, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Kearns) Higgins and
was a graduate of St. Mary’ s High School in 1946. She had resided in Peabody for the
past 44 years.
She had worked with the N.E. Tel & Tel Co. and later Nynex and then
For Vorizen Telephone in the yellow pages division for a total of 26 years. In between,
She had been employed in the accounting office at the Sears Roebuck Co. at the
North Shore Mall for 10 years.
She had been a member of the Telephone Pioneers Club and did volunteer work at the Torigian Senior Life Center in Peabody. She also knitted
Hats for new born babies at the Beverly Hospital and was a member of the West Beach
Association. She enjoyed dancing and was a member of St. Mary’ s High School Alumnae.,
Surviving her besides her husband are a son and daughter-in-law, John and
Molly Foster of Peabody, 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl Ann and Colin Foster-
Mc Cullogh of Kingston, R.I. and Patricia Marie and John Parella of Franklin, Ma.,
A sister and brother - in-law, Irene and Donald Hunter of Peabody; 5 grandchildren,
Isobel Mc Cullogh, Amanda and Andrew Parella, and Mackenzie and Reed Foster, and
many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Marion Martinsen and John Higgins.
Her Funeral will be held on Friday at 8:00 a.m.

Followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John’ s Church, Peabody at 9:00 a.m. Burial in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Mary’ s
