Obituary of Jospeh Michael "Mike" Franceschi

Joseph Michael “Mike” Franceschi, a retired Library Director from Peabody, MA died Thursday April 27th from cancer at age 75. Born and raised in Medford, he was the son of the late Joseph and Elsie Franceschi. Michael was a graduate of Medford High School, Northeastern University, University of Connecticut, and Simmons College. He was an Assistant Director on Medford Public Library, and a Public Library Director in Yarmouth ME, Greenfield, MA, and Peabody, MA. Michael was a Second Lieutenant in the US Army. He enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, fishing, hiking, biking, reading, cooking, softball, and music. He played the saxophone with several local bands. Michael was the husband of Catherine M. Green. He was a devoted father to Linda Willinger (Franceschi-green) and her husband Jason of Middle Village, NY, the late Aaron Franceschi-green, Carla Franceschi-green and her husband Brian Peters of Dorchester. He was a loving grandfather to Josephine and Nicholas Willinger, and Maisie Peters. Michael was brother to Joan DiMattia of Burlington, the late Carol Hornberger of Oregon, the late David Franceschi of Medford, and Steven Franceschi of Gibsonia, PA. The Funeral services and internment will be private.
