Obituary of Stephanie M. (Gurdon) Doucette-Walsh

Stephanie (Gurdon) Doucette-Walsh, 49, of Peabody beloved wife of William Walsh, died early Thursday morning , June 1, 2017 after a brief illness at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers with her family at her side. She was born in Salem, MA on April 16, 1968, the daughter of George and Sharon (McEachern) Gurdon of Peabody. She was raised and educated in Beverly and has resided in Peabody for the past 13 years. Stephanie attended North Shore Community College and received a degree in early childhood education. She discovered her love of teaching at the YMCA and later was the Director of the Hand In Hand Early Learning Center in Peabody. Stephanie then started and was Co-owner of Teachable Moments Day Care in Peabody for the past 11 years. She had a strong compassion for children and worked hard to help families in the community. She is survived by her husband William, her parents, her 3 sons, Christian Doucette, and her twin boys, Nicholas and Daniel Walsh. She is also predeceased by her ‘angel baby’, William James Walsh, Jr. She will be deeply missed by her sister and brother -in-law, Christine and Ian Carr of Beverly, her three brothers-in-laws and a sister-in-law of the Walsh Family, her former husband Michael Doucette and many nieces and nephews and a host of friends and fellow educators. A Visitation for the family will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility from 3:00 until 6:00 PM with a Service at 6:00 PM.
