Obituary of Wilson J. Lobao, Jr.
Wilson J. Lobao, Jr., 76 PEABODY – Wilson J. Lobao, Jr., 76, beloved husband of Peggy (Jordan) Lobao, died on Monday, August 28, 2017 as a result of a tragic accident in his yard. Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Wilson J. Lobao, Sr. and Delphine (Silva) Lobao. He grew up in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School. He later attended the University of Massachusetts at Lowell to study Mechanical Engineering. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and served testing Rocket Engines in California during the Vietnam War. Mr. Lobao worked for Ted Hood Sailmakers in Marblehead, and nurtured his passion for boating and the sea. He later was a machinist at various shops around the North Shore area. Wilson was a member of the Winthrop Yacht Club. He enjoyed skiing in his younger years, and more recently snowmobiling in Pittsburg, NH with his family. He was proud of his project building his own boat that he started with his father which became a testament to his attention to detail. He was always happy, would greet people with a friendly smile and always say that he was “Simply Marvelous.” He had a penchant for singing Christmas Carols all year long, and with his witty sense of humor he made any situation brighter.
