Barbara was a true friend to countless people and loved, respected and admired by countless people. She was devoted to her own family, of course, and also to her family of professional colleagues. She spread her kindness and graciousness and knowledge to all at Winchester High School where I knew her: to her language department teachers, guidance counselors, fellow administrators and especially to the students. She stayed in touch with so many of us, by phone in later years, and was unfailingly interested in what was happening in our lives and in the world.
