I remember taking his "Death & Dying" class circa 1988-89 and he showed us movie "Harold & Maude". I'll always think of that class when I hear Cat Stevens. To the Track coach who taught God & speed: GODSPEED!

I am so sorry to see that John had passed away. I had never met him but he was my second cousin. Ed Farley and my dad (Edward Larkin) were first cousins. When I was growing up, Ed Farley would visit us in Dorchester and at some point when people passed away, we lost contact with this family. When the internet came along, I tried searching for some of my relatives and found this today. I was so sad to read this and offer sympathy to the family. My grandmother was Catherine Farley from Ireland and I believe Ed Farley's father and she were sisters.

I was saddened to hear of Jack's passing. I was a year behind Jack at Saint Anselm's but we lived on the same floor in the dormitory. We became friends and I remember him with great fondness. He was always quick with a smile and a good word. I am very sorry for your loss.

I must say how shocked and saddened I am to read this. As was stated by another, Mr. Farley was a member of a very special family of Bishop Fenwick. My condolences to the family and friends of this wonderful and thought provoking teacher/man. And to you Mr. Farley, I never took a Spanish class but you always tried to get me to do so, may I say God's Blessings and Rest in Peace ....
Pedro

Im very saddened by hearing about the passing of my former teacher and coach Mr. Farley. I only have great memories of my time shared with him either in the classroom or through coaching me in winter and spring track multiple years. Only a small less than handfull of teachers have made am impact on me where I frequently thought of them or was reminded of them through everyday life. Jack was on the top of that list. True gentleman and professional on and off the sports venue and in and out of the classroom. Strict but fair and always respected. He will def always be in my mind and will always be missed. Rest in peace.

I would like to send condolences to the entire Get My family. Jack was a star in the class of '68 . He also was a star to my son Michael who ran 12 season of track with Jack as his coach. Jack was loved by the team and when Jack left Fenwick late in the season, my son told me, Jack will always be his coach. He made a huge impact for the good on him. Thank you Jack.

Dear Jim and the entire extended Farley family, Please accept my sincere condolences and sorrow upon learning of the passing of Coach Jack. When I started my coaching career while at Fenwick, I learned of the family atmosphere from Jack, yourself, Jack and Bo Tierney, Jim McHugh, and John Jaworski. Your brother gave back so much to the school he loved. A beloved teacher-coach, his dedication and loyalty to the student athletes was very evident to me in his early years of his coaching career.I know he will be deeply missed,as he still had much to give and left much too early from this world. Jack and Coach Bo epitomized what"Fenwick Family" truly means and have left an eternal legacy. I am deeply sorry for your family's loss.

Coach had an impact on my life that I can't begin to describe. He taught me that I always had more to give. When you think you've got nothing left, that's when you dig deep and find more. There's always more left in your tank. For my teammates, you'll all remember his warning of the "Wrath of Sutera" at the top of the hill. It still makes me laugh today.

As a coach and teacher, he did so much. It's been over 20 years since I spoke to him, but he left memories with me that I will never forget. "Vision and Faith" still rings true to me today. I would not be where I am today without his influence.

Coach gave the best eulogy I've ever heard at his own father's funeral. He said to his Dad that this wasn't "goodbye." Rather, it was "See you Later", because his faith had taught him that we will meet again in heaven. I'll "see you later" Coach. Thanks for all you did during your 66 years.

So saddened to hear the news of Uncle Jack's passing. Fr Fraley was one of my favorite teachers at Fenwick in the late 70's and early 80's. I'll never forget his religion classes. He always created a space where you felt safe to ask any question, no matter how "out there" it might be. One of the original founders of what was once the "Fenwick Family".
