My friendship with Mrs. O'Brien comprised one visit to Peabody, a day in Gloucester, and nearly thirty years of telephone conversations. During those talks we shared a lot of personal ups and downs, but we ended each talk on a note of hope, and looked forward to the next time when we'd pick up where we left off. She was a beautiful person who grew more beautiful with each passing year. With her passing I've lost the only link to a friend I lost many years ago; but more importantly his mother is now with him, and oh what a wonderful reunion that must be. She will be in my heart for the rest of my life. I am so grateful for having known her.
