Obituary of Mary C. (Gianino) Heald

Mary C. (Gianino) Heald, 70, of Peabody, died late Monday evening at the Beverly Hospital, following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of George M. Heald, with whom she recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on October 23, 2003. Born and raised in Waltham, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Elizabeth (Chapin) Gianino. She later moved to Lynn, graduated from St. Mary’ s High School in 1950, and has spent the last 45 years living in Peabody. She received a certificate from the Landmark School in Beverly as a Learning Disabilities Tutor. She worked for over 30 years as a learning disabilities tutor for the Peabody Grammar School System. She has spent the last 10 years at the Kiley School. She also was a Tax Preparer for H&R Block at the Sears Store in Peabody for 16 years. She enjoyed Oil Painting, piano music, crossword puzzles, anagrams, mysteries, going to the ocean and watching the seagulls, stuffed teddy bears, and watching her favorite soap opera, Days of our Lives. She was the first female usher at St. Adelaide’ s Church and has been for the past 25 years. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Martin and Lucille Heald of Derry, NH; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Michael Ettlinger of Peabody, Trish and Jim Dollard of Cincinnati, OH, and Marcia and Michael Lynch of Danvers; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Elaine Gianino of Lynnfield; 6 grandchildren and two nephews, John Gianino of Lynnfield and Paul Gianino of Maine. Her funeral service will be held on Friday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Adelaide’ s Church at 10:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Thursday from 3 until 7:00 PM. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
