Obituary of Charles H. Follett

Charles H. Follett, 86 LYNNFIELD – Charles H. Follett, 86, beloved husband of Jean A. (Winsor) Follett, died peacefully on Saturday March 24, 2018, following an extended illness. Born and raised in Revere, he was the son of the late Eli and Mary Ann (Moore) Follett. He was a graduate of Revere High School. He later enlisted in the United States Navy during the Korean War and was a long time and dedicated employee of Verizon. Charlie ("Flash") was a quiet family man and a true gentleman, very patriotic and proud of his Newfoundland heritage. He enjoyed photography, loved flowers and was an avid gardener. He loved the ocean, the New England Patriots and passed on his love of music, particularly jazz, to his daughters; he enjoyed playing the harmonica to the amusement of his grandkids. He was very handy around both homes and cars, for which his daughters relied on him as their personal handyman, perfectionist in all he did. He was respectful of others and passed that value on to his daughters. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Jean Ann Follett of Lynnfield, whom he adored and shared 64 years of marriage; three daughters: Charlene Follett and her husband Kevin McLaughlin of Lynnfield, Elaine Simonelli and her husband Paul of Newburyport, and Lynne Forgione and her husband Steven of Lynnfield; six grandchildren: Lauren Silva, Jenna Iannetta, Nicholas, Matthew, and Jake Forgione, and step-grandson Colin McLaughlin; two great-grandchildren, Lily and Jonathan Silva, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death, besides his parents, by brother Frederick Follett and sisters Rosamond MacWilliams, Evelyn Conley, and Virginia Bottcher. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Thursday March 29, 2018 for a Funeral Service at 11 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 28, from 4 – 8 PM in the funeral home. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association MA/NH Chapter, 309 Waverly Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452 or https://www.alz.org/manh/.
