There will never be enough words to describe the love and admiration we feel for Nick.<br>We were in our 20s when we became friends and, although we have not seen Nick in close to 30 years, we think about him and talk about him often.<br>You see, whenever we talk about our daughter Wendy, we tell about our friend Nick and his selflessness. On what should have been a beautiful morning in June of 1981, we rushed our 3 week old baby girl to the Beverly Hospital. Mike was driving and Jeannie was 'puffing' into Wendy's mouth hoping to keep enough air in her to keep her alive until we got to the Emergency Room. Once we got there and she was rushed into a room while a nurse was performing CPR on her, Nick, the Respiratory Therapist and our friend, took over. He started breathing for our baby girl with one of those handheld resuscitators. He stayed with her for four hours squeezing the little bulb in his big hands. Four hours! He would not accept the offers by others to take over for a little while so he could have a break. He just kept on breathing for her. He was able to get her stabilized so she could travel in the ambulance to Massachusetts General Hospital. She ended up passing away on June 11th, 1981 at just 23 days old.<br>We have never forgotten what he did for Wendy. We hope he realized what an impact and impression his love and compassion have had on our lives over all these years. I'm sure there are many other stories of Nick's selflessness. God bless you Nick.
